This workshop explores the visual and historical intersection between abandoned industry and the northern landscape of Northern Norway. The focus is on decommissioned industrial sites, extraction landscapes and residual infrastructure, and how these structures interact with light, weather and terrain.

Nordland in Northern Norway is home to some of the most extraordinary landscapes in Europe, from the marble formations of Marmorslottet to the alpine karst of Láhko National Park and the glacier of Svartisen. These are not the typical over-photographed locations. They’re wild, varied, and still feel like a discovery.

Throughout the week you’ll get personal, hands-on guidance in the field. We work in small groups and spend our time where the light is best, helping you with composition, technique, and decision-making on location. You’ll also get clear feedback on your images along the way, so you head home with stronger photos and a more confident approach in the landscape.

Hidden in the gentle hills and forested plains of Lower Silesia (Dolny Śląsk) in Poland, the remnants of a once-glorious past still stand — castles and palaces that whisper stories of power, beauty, and decay. Once at the heart of Central Europe’s noble life, these grand residences now linger between splendour and ruin, their faded walls bearing silent witness to a turbulent history.

This workshop invites you to explore and photograph these extraordinary places — to step into the quiet corridors of time, capture their melancholic beauty, and reflect on the fragile dialogue between history and impermanence. Through your lens, you will document not only architecture, but also the passage of centuries etched into stone, wood, and light.

Join photographer Bjørn Joachimsen for five immersive days of landscape photography in Færder National Park, located at the outer edge of the Oslo Fjord. This workshop is designed for nature photographers who want to slow down, immerse themselves fully, and spend several consecutive days entirely focused on photography together with like-minded participants.

Kraków has been a cultural melting pot and a centre of science and trade in Central Europe for almost a thousand years.
