This workshop is about your growth and your images. Many photo tours emphasize being at the right location at the right time — but then the instructors often focus on taking their own shots. Our philosophy is different. We’re there to guide you personally. Photo: Bjørn Joachimsen.
Nordland in Northern Norway is home to some of the most extraordinary landscapes in Europe, from the marble formations of Marmorslottet to the alpine karst of Láhko National Park and the glacier of Svartisen. These are not the typical over-photographed locations. They’re wild, varied, and still feel like a discovery.
Throughout the week you’ll get personal, hands-on guidance in the field. We work in small groups and spend our time where the light is best, helping you with composition, technique, and decision-making on location. You’ll also get clear feedback on your images along the way, so you head home with stronger photos and a more confident approach in the landscape.
What makes this workshop different is our commitment to you. We don’t just guide you to the right locations and then focus on our own cameras. Our energy goes into helping you — through one-to-one coaching in the field, hands-on demonstrations, and personal feedback.
Our goal is that you return home not just with memories of Nordland, but with images you’re truly proud of.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN AT THE WORKSHOP
Craft strong landscape compositions with depth, clean lines, and a clear focal point.
Work with Northern Norwegian light at sunrise, sunset, and in fast-changing weather.
Read weather and adapt quickly to fog, low cloud, rain, and shifting atmosphere.
Scout and pre-visualize scenes so you know what you’re looking for before you set up.
Photograph both the “wow” landscapes (marble, karst, glacier) and quieter details and textures.
Build a cohesive set of images with personal guidance in the field and structured feedback sessions.
Use long exposures (with or without filters) to shape water and cloud movement in a controlled way.
Improve technical confidence with exposure, focus, sharpness, and efficient tripod workflow.
Instructors and workshop leaders: Terje Svendsen and Bjørn Joachimsen.
