Gdańsk and the surrounding region of Pomerania offer an extraordinary variety of photographic opportunities. From the historic streets and waterfront of Gdańsk to the smaller towns and distinctive landscapes of northern Poland, the region combines centuries of history with a rich and varied visual environment.
For photographers, Gdańsk is particularly fascinating. Its historic architecture, narrow streets, colourful façades and changing light provide excellent opportunities for architectural photography, atmospheric cityscapes and street photography. Beyond the city, Pomerania offers a different photographic experience, with landscapes and historic places that invite a slower, more observational approach.
In June 2027, I will be returning to the region together with my colleague Terje Svendsen to lead the Gdańsk & Pomerania Photography Workshop, organised by Lanterna Magica Photography.
The workshop takes place from 21 to 27 June 2027 and is designed for photographers who enjoy exploring places, observing light and developing their personal photographic vision. Our approach combines practical guidance with time to explore, experiment and work independently.
We will spend the first part of the workshop in Malbork before continuing to Gdańsk, using both locations as bases for our photographic explorations.
Whether your interests lie in street photography, architecture, urban landscapes or documentary photography, this workshop offers an opportunity to discover one of Poland's most rewarding regions through the camera.
